Is this sentence correct "Ella lee un libro a él." ?

Hello! I am reading this article: http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/100017/indirect-object-pronouns#.VnYzX7Z96t8.

It says that it's a must to use the indirect object pronoun "le/les". But there is also a sentence in this article itself, not using an indirect object pronoun: "Él compró unos regalos para nosotros. "

I am a little bit confused. Is it always necessary to use the indirect object pronoun when there is an indirect object?

When "para" is used it changes things. What you have written with "para" is correct. However there is another way of saying: "El compró unos regalos para nosotros."

Change "para" to "a" and you introduce the "le/les" construction.

"El nos compró unos regalos a nosotros." "He bought some presents for us." If you haven't been introduced to this type of construction it can seem a little weird.

For example, "The robber stole my money" in Spanish would be: "El ladrón me robó el dinero. ("a mí" can be added for emphasis.)

Pedro les obtuvo un carro nuevo a sus padres. "Pedro got a new car for his parents."

Again you can exchange "a" for "para" and you get, "Pedro obtuvo un carro nuevo para sus padres.

I would say:

**Ella le lee un libro"

You can add some information at the end, but in Spanish it is not necessary.

Ella le lee un libro a él or Ella le lee a él un libro (Both are valid)
