There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Despúes de una espera interminable para una mesa, una espera interminable para el mesero, una espera interminable para una bebida y luego una espera interminable para la comida, de repente se dio cuenta de por qué la comida lenta es tan saludable- ya ha pasado el punto de tener hambre.

(Solo es un chiste, apoyo el movimiento de la comida lenta)

After an interminable wait for a table, an interminable wait for the waiter, an interminable wait for a drink and then an interminable wait for the meal, he suddenly realized why slow food was so healthy- he had passed the point of being hungry.

(It is only a joke, I support the slow food movement)

Algunas personas dicen que el fútbol es aburrido, pero para mí un partido de béisbol me parece interminable. Y no en una manera buena.

Some people say that soccer is boring, but for me a baseball game seems endless. And not in a good way.

¿Han leído La historia interminable? A mí francamente siempre me ha dado mucha flojera leerlo y no sé por qué. Tampoco he visto las películas.

Have you ever read The Neverending Story? Frankly speaking, for some reason, neither the book nor the movies have ever appealed to me. I haven't read the books nor seen the films.

Thank you, Bosque! smile

Remember, we don't use double negatives in English- "have ever appealed". :) - bosquederoble, Dec 18, 2015
I saw the movie. It was a good one in my estimation for children. :) - rac1, Dec 18, 2015
To clarify, you can say the books and the movies have never appealed to me, or neither the books nor the movies have ever appealed to me- but you can't combine the neither with the never. :) - bosquederoble, Dec 18, 2015
Hola, Luis. ;) - jrschenk, Dec 19, 2015
Luis, Spanish is much more fun. We get to use double and triple negatives and more, if we want. - Daniela2041, Dec 19, 2015

He pasado unos días en Inglaterra y me lo ha pasado bomba pero el viaje de vuelta fue interminable, tuve que conducir hora tras hora bajo la lluvia inglesa para llegar al aeropuerto y devolver el coche alquilado y pasar por el control de seguridad, y después de todo esto el maldito avion siguió aparcado en la pista por media hora antes de despegar en la oscuridad.

I have spent some fantastic days in England but the return journey was interminable, I had to drive for hour after hour in the English rain, in order to arrive at the airport in time to return my hire-car and go through security, and after all this the effing plane just stood there, parked on the run-way, for half an hour before taking off into the darkness.

Mr and Mrs Martinez and their four children had an interminable wait to get to the front of the queue for passport control, but when at last they arrived, he realized that he had left the passports in the car, which he had parked in one of the airport car parks. Not surprisingly, his wife was furious with him! Infact, she nearly hit him in the face when he had the nerve to suggest that 'she' should go back to the car to look for them! Nowadays, 'she' looks after (ie: takes responsibility for) all the passports and tickets...I wonder why?! lol wink

el control de..del aeropuerto... smile - Pablo064

Muchas gracias por tus correcciones, Pablo smile

Corrijan mi español, si es necesario, por favor smile
