I am getting a memorial tattoo for my grandma and I want it to say "watch over me and protect me" I have had so many different translations. Anyone know the right one?! Help! Thank you!

It would be helpful for us to know your gender and level in Spanish and English (even though we assume you are fluent in it given your post). You may get an answer but check the person's profile before you accept the answer to make sure they are fluent. - Jubilado, Dec 17, 2015

Vigílame y protégeme. (familiar command) Instead of "vigílame" you could even use "guárdame" I'm sorry but the other responses did have some errors. (except for Rey_Mysterio who was expressing his condolences for your loss)

Hello Nrecalt,

Welcome to the SpanishDict forum smile

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your grandmother. It is never easy to lose the people we love.

Nrecalt1234 I am getting a memorial tattoo for my grandma and I want it to say "watch over me and protect me" I have had so many different translations. Anyone know the right one?! Help! Thank you!

I would say: Vigila sobre me y me protege o Vigila por me y me protege

I am using the imprative / command form of the verbs vigilar and proteger

I do not believe it is correct to use the word reloj in this context because ths word is a noun and you need to use verbs to command somebody to carry out a particular action: Watch over me and protect me!

I hope this helps smile

Corrijan mi español si es necesario, por favor smile

Here are three ways you could possilbly put it but I am not 100% correct all the time but here is how you could put it. reloj sobre mí y me protege, Ver por encima de mí y me protege or vigíle me y protéjam. But the most accurate is most likely reloj sobre mí y me protege.

PS I am sorry for you loss , I know how it feels I lost my grandfather last year. There is one that says "Your wings but my heart wasn't" I am gonna get when I turn 18.

A "reloj" is something you tell time with. It has nothing to do with the verb "watch" - Daniela2041, Dec 18, 2015
Oh sorry I did not know that. - Nickelbackfan1, Dec 18, 2015
