Imperfect or Preterite???

¡Hola! I'm quite confused with if this sentence would be imperfect or preterite "My partner's name was Maria."

Would I say "Mi compañera se llamaba Maria" or "Mi compañera se llamó Maria" !

Not an answer but a further question. In English this sentence could mean four things (at a stretch). I've listed them below in order of likelihood:

My partner's name was Maria (but now she is no longer my partner)

My partner's name was Maria (but she has changed her name)

My partner's name was Maria (and she is still my partner)

My partner's name was Maria (and it is still her name)

Would all of these use the imperfect in Spanish?
