Hola amigos and amigas ! My question today is how do you say it is almost Christmas are you excited. I think it should be something like this Es casi Navidad estás excitado but I am not 100% sure that it is correct. So how would you say that sentence?

You really need to pay attention to your punctuation and capitalization. For example, your OP should be as follows: Hola, amigos! My question today is how do you say, "It is almost Christmas. Are you excited?" I think it should be something like this: "Es - AnnRon, Dec 10, 2015
. . . casi Navidad. ¿Estás excitado?" but I am not 100% sure that it is correct. How would you say that sentence? - AnnRon, Dec 10, 2015
Thanks guys for correcting me I am glad I asked I did not know about that error and that could have been bad if I asked somebody who did not speak English. :) - Nickelbackfan1, Dec 11, 2015

Ya estamos casi en Navidad.¿ Estás emocionado? ( ¿Te emocionas? ) I would possibly avoid ' exitado' as it can indicate arousal.

Hi Nickelbackfan!

I would say.

"¡Ya casi llega la navidad, estás emocionado/a...!", "¡Ya casi llega navidad, estás emocionado/a...!", or "¡Ya casi es navidad, estás emocionado/a..."

annierats is correct when she warns you not to use the word "excited" as this word does not translate well.

Hello Nickel

You can also say: Casi es navidad. ¿Estás emocionado?/ ¿Estás entusiasmado? = It is almost Christmas. Are you excited?

Annie is completely right ...it is better to avoid the verb excitar as it has sexual overtones ...I would recommend that you use either the verb: emocionar or entusiasmar instead! wink

I hope this helps smile
