Would this be the correct way to write this sentence:

¿Qué habrías hecho en tu primer año en la universidad, si pudieras repetirlo?

or would this

¿Qué habrías hecho en tu primer año en la universidad, si hubieras podido repetirlo?

or are they both correct or wrong? Thanks in advance!

For what it is worth, the second looks perfectly fine to me. The first I can't decide if that combination is legitimate or not, so I will leave it for someone else. I would replace the first en with durante, personally, but that may be personal preferenc - bosquederoble, Dec 9, 2015

Hello Bwright wink

Welcome to the SpanishDict forum smile

Firstly, thank you and congratulations on completing your basic profile details; especially if you did this without being requested! wink

You asked:

bwright3 Would this be the correct way to write this sentence: ¿Qué habrías hecho en tu primer año en la universidad, si pudieras repetirlo? or would this ¿Qué habrías hecho en tu primer año en la universidad, si hubieras podido repetirlo? or are they both correct or wrong? Thanks in advance!

¿Qué habrías hecho en (o durante) tu primer año en la universidad, si pudieras repetirlo?

= What would you have done in your first year at university if you could have repeated it?

¿Qué habrías hecho en (o durante) tu primer año en la universidad, si hubieras poder repetirlo?

= What would you have done in your first year at university if you had been able to repeat it?

Please could you confirm whether the English sentences are what you were trying to say in English?

As I'm sure you can see, the meanings are almost the same!

I hope this helps smile
