Hola!

How would you say "both of us can go" in Spanish?

As in, "are you going to the store? both of us can go".

Would it be "ambos de nosotros puede ir"?

Any help much appreciated!

Muchas gracias, Rangi

Hello Rangi,

Great question wink

You asked:

Hola! How would you say "both of us can go" in Spanish? As in, "are you going to the store? both of us can go".Would it be "ambos de nosotros puede ir" Any help much appreciated! Muchas gracias, Rangi

You can say: Ambos o nosotros dos ...podemos ir (a la tienda) = Both of us can go (to the store/shop) podemos = we can.

Please remember that the first verb must be conjugated in Spanish. We use the same verb 'can' in English for all the different conjugations: I , he she, you can... etc... but the Spanish conjugate it ...in this case in would be: we can = podemos ir

Another example,

Ambos aceptaron la propuesta = They both accepted the proposal

Example courtesy of Oxford English /Spanish Dictionary (4th edn)

Here, the verb aceptar is conjugated for them (they both accepted) not conjugated for the word ambos (which may be in singular form like the word gente )

I hope this helps smile

Corrijan mi español si es necesario, por favor smile

I asked my native Spanish teacher, who comes from Spain, to check this post and she advised me of a correction to make Nosostros dos which I have now done! :) - FELIZ77, Dec 7, 2015
