Is it okay to say "crave to feel"? For example in the following sentences:

She feels as if she's dead on the inside ever since her husband left her. She told me she wanted to practice some dangerous sports because she craves to feel something.

Does it sound like something a native would say? Thanks.

It is not wrong but it sounds 'clunky', I would say ,

-"she has a craving to feel something".

But remember as it is in Spanish there are many regional differences

in the way we convey our feelings in written form,

there are many ways to say this.

I am sure that other members will contribute their own take on this.

Hola Uvasol

Bienvenido al foro SpanishDict smile

Has escrito:

She told me she wanted to practice some dangerous sports because she craves to feel something. Does it sound like something a native would say? Thanks.

¡Como han dicho Ray y Gringo, esta frase suena tosco y pesado o como decimos en Inglaterra, suena poco elegante!

Sería mejor decir: She is desperate to feel something or She longs to feel something or She has a craving to feel something.

Espero que lo te sirve smile

Corrijan mi español si es necesario, por favor smile

As Ray and Gringo have said, it is clunky or as we say in Britain, it sounds awkward!

It would be better to say: She is desperate to feel something or She longs to feel something or She has a craving to feel something

I hope this helps smile

Please correct my Spanish if it is necessary smile

Correct as usual Feliz, we rarely us this word in that context , it is not wrong but is not común . - ray76, Dec 7, 2015
Thank you, Ray, for the confirmation :) - FELIZ77, Dec 7, 2015

I am in line with Ray. It is not quite right.

But I would say, ....she craves feeling something.
