I need to create a subjunctive sentence from - "Tengo que salir de excursión" Is it correct to say "Me alegro de que tenge que salir de excursión" ? Since the subject doesn't change, should I eliminate tener?

Bird, one thing is for sure: you would not use tengE, the subjunctive form of the verb tener is tengA :) ER and IR verbs take an a, and ar verbs take e in the present subjunctive form. I hope this helps :) - FELIZ77, Dec 5, 2015
I thought that if the subject doesn't change, one should use the infinitive. I also am not sure if I can use "que" twice in a subjunctive sentence. - bird805, Dec 5, 2015
I wasn't saying that you should use the subjunctive, I was simply commenting on what form it should take ;) - FELIZ77, Dec 5, 2015
Daniela has given you a great answer and an example using the subjunctive with puedA ;) - FELIZ77, Dec 5, 2015

Yes, that is usually the case:if the subject doesn't change after que, you would use the indicative, but if there is a change of subject and a different verb in the second clause after the relative pronoun 'que' then you would use the subjunctive - FELIZ77, Dec 5, 2015
@Bird--I have posted the first of three threads on the subjunctive. If you go to my profile you will probably find it there. - Daniela2041, Dec 5, 2015
Yup, it's there down toward the bottom of my profile. just click on the link. It may not be quite enough, but check it out. - Daniela2041, Dec 5, 2015

Me alegro de tener que salir de excursión. Is grammatically OK but it is a really dopey sentence. " I am happy that I have to go out on an excursion"???? It would be more logical to say "I'm happy that I can go out on an excursion". Me alegro de poder ir de excursión.

If you want a subjunctive: Me da mucho gozo de que pueda ir de excursión.

The way I would probably express the whole idea here is "Me encanta poder ir de excursion." (But there's no subjunctive.) (Big sigh.)
