Hi Friends, I have been out and away for a while but have returned now and give my greetings to everyone .. how are you all doing my dear friends ..
There is a little questions I have for all of you ... If we are talking about a milk shake in spanish,, I think the main word to denote a milkshake in spanish is "El Batido" but today I also saw another word on "the word of the day post" (for La Paja) .. which is La Malteada ..
So I was wondering if both mean exactly the same or is there some difference..
Thanks and Regards Jimmy

Joydeep, scrap the milk and have a glass of wine, now you're back with us. Milk is very bad for you. Wine is good for you. Problem solved.
Te invito a compartir una copa..
Well, in the USA, "milk shakes" and "malts" or "malted milk shakes" are two different things.
Milk shakes are made with ice cream or yogurt, milk, and flavorings (fruits or syrups) blended together. Malts have "malt powder" or "malted milk powder" added to the mix, which gives it a less sweet taste. They are usually not flavored with fruit or syrups because the malt powder apparently doesn't taste very good with such things.
I would think that the same difference applies in the Spanish-speaking world.
