How to address people
When describing some people for example "My mom and I" or "Mi madre y yo", would you replace it with Nosotros, Ustedes, or ellos? I think it would be nosotros (we) but could you use ustedes instead? Also if you describe people like "You and Maria" what would you replace it with? Tú is for you but would you use ellos in that case? Thanks for helping.

"My mom and I" would definitely use nosotros, while "you and Maria" would be replaced with ustedes (or vosotros if you know the people well and are in Spain).

1.You are right in saying that you would replace "My mom and I" or "Mi madre y yo", with nosotros (= we ) ![]()
2 Ustedes means you! It all really depends from whose perspective/viewpoint you are talking! Who is talking about these people? If you are one of these people, then you would not say of yourselves 'you', would you? ( You would say, we:
If, on the other hand, you are talking about two other people (not including yourself!) then you can and should say You = nosotros!
Ustedes =you (does not include yourself!)
3 You and Maria = them. If you are referring to/ or describing two girls (females) then use ellas If you are referring to a woman and a man then ellos (The male form always takes precedence!)
I hope this helps ![]()
My mother and I:
In english it wouldnt make sense if you put "my mother and I ellos went to the store" or "my mother and I ustedes went." So whenever you see someone and yo you should think nosotros/as.
You and Maria: You would use ustedes.
