Could you please say what you want us to do. We can't share the salad, it is gone. Do you wish us to translate? If are you learning English, the sentence is correct.

I think he wants a translation, but will have to read the rules first about submitting an effort and filling out the profile. Some of these folks after posting never come back to see the answer. - Daniela2041, Dec 1, 2015

Please specify want you want. If you want a translation, I'd just say "Comían la lechuga."

The sentence in English is correct.

Really? Somebody has already eaten, the lettuce?! Oh heck, what a pity ..I. was hoping for (wanting to eat) some lettuce with mayonaise, for my supper tonight!

Joking apart, how can we help you? You need to (must) tell us exactly what you want. For example, you can say, please could you help me to translate this sentence, in Spanish?

By the way, The Spanish don't often use the passive voice , for example: The Lettuce had been eaten, but they usually use the active voice in Spanish, For example: Somebody had eaten the lettuce or the Boy had eaten the lettuce.

Bromas aparte, ¿cómo podemos ayudarte? Tienes que decirnos exactamente lo que quieres. Por ejemplo, puedes decir: ¿Me podrías ayudar a traducir esta frase, en español, por favor?

Por cierto, generalmente, la gente española no usa la voz passiva, p.ej: 'La lechuga había sido comido', pero se dice, por ejemplo: 'Alguien había comido la lechuga' o 'El niño había comido la lechuga'.
