What are you trying to say? it seems to say "In English class I eat my book". Maybe that is what you want? :) - bosquederoble, Nov 24, 2015

This is grammatically correct, with an uppercase C and a question mark:

Can you make this grammatically correct?

Hello Declan,

Welcome to the SpanishDict forum smile

You asked:

Can you make this grammatically correct ?

(An initial capital letter for C and a question mark would be helpful in your sentence, since we are a learning site and people who are trying to learn English are trying to learn from our example!)

Can we make this grammatically correct? Yes, thanks for asking, we probably could if we knew what you were trying to say, wink lol

Joking aside, if you want to receive a serious answer from us for this or any other sentence with which you are struggling/or might struggle in the future, you will need to include an English translation so that people can see what you are trying to say! wink

So far, your sentence just says in Spanish: In (my) English class I eat my book / I eat my book in (my) English class.

Is this really what you were trying to say or or did you want to say: In (my) English class....

(1.)... I write in my book ? (You need to use and conjugate the verb escribir = to write)

(2)... I read my book? (You need to use and conjugate the verb leer = to read)

(3)... I draw in my book (You need to use and conjugate the verb dibujar = to draw, sketch)

(4) None of the above! (ie something completely different ..in which case, what did you want to say?!)

Can you see how difficult you have made it for people here to help you? We really cannot read your mind/ or anyone else's mind in this language community (We are language specialists not psychics) so we need you to add a sentence in English, please, to help us to better understand what you are trying to say.

You have conjugated the verb comer = to eat, for the 1st person singular (which is correct if you are referring to yourself) but unless you actually want to say: In my English class, I eat my book, then I suspect that you have chosen the wrong verb! wink

I hope this helps smile

Okay now I have to ask (this is a question, not an answer for the original).

I, in my version of English, can say:

In English class I eat my book.

as well as in my English class, or in the English class.

Can I really not say "en clase de inglés como mi libro"

This is a serious question, in Spanish you use more articles as subjects, but in my experience less if anything after prepositions, but it is one of the hardest for me to get a sense of. :) - bosquederoble, Nov 25, 2015
You may be right Bosque, maybe the original is correct? Anyway, the poor lad must have been very hungry. - annierats, Nov 25, 2015

In the English class I eat my book.

You need to say ' en LA clase de inglés como mi libro' or ' en mi clase de inglés..'

Excellent point... that and a full stop are the only changes needed to make it grammatically correct (if a bit nonsensical). - jtaniel, Nov 24, 2015
