Spanish colloquialism for 'everything went downhill'?

Are there any phrases or colloquialisms used by Spanish speakers that have the same meaning as when an English person says 'everything went downhill' (as in - everything got worse/ everything started to get really bad)??

Thank you!

Todo salió un desmadre / Todo fue a la chingada / Todo salió una mierda.

These are from Mexico and should only be used with people who you know well. I´m sure there are many more from other countries.

I love how much Mexican slang revolves around parents. "Está padre", "Me vale madre" - HackerKing, Nov 21, 2015
