La Palabra Del Dia: "quejarse"
quejarse ( keh-hahr'-seh )
verb ( to complain; to groan )

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.
Guidelines:
Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Fue una lástima que no se quejara más de los ruidos en el apartamiento de sus vecinos. Quizá no estarían muertos ahora.
It was a shame that he had not complained more about the noise in his neighbors flat. Maybe they wouldnt be dead now.

The youngest pig was very pale and cold. '' He is dead'', wept the girl in the red cap. '' He is not breathing'', said the Grandmother with pretend sadness. At that moment James, the police bloodhound with the best nose in the country, arrived. '' I'm a policeman'' he shouted, showing his police badge. '' What's going on here? '' he asked. '' This beautiful piglet has drowned answered the little girl. The older piglet was still spitting out water and unable to talk. The policeman took the piglet's pulse. ' He is not dead, but his heart is beating very slowly. He will die very soon if we can't get him to hospital.'' '' Let's get on with it!', said the middle brother, lifting the pale little piglet by his feet. '' As the piglet was all but dead he was unable to complain about the inelegant way he was being taken to hospital. '' Good,'' said the middle brother, '' one has to put a very hot iron on his chest, I've seen it on telly''. '' I've got an iron'' shouted the Grandmother, '' and my house is very nearby, we had better go there and apply the hot iron''. The truth was that the Grandmother was not taken with the plan of going to hospital, if they were to get there, there would definitely be nurses and doctors about and this would make it difficult to kill the piglet.
I attended a memorial service yesterday that was both sad and inspiring. The man was beloved for sending letters of appreciation. He often addressed comments to the "compliment" rather than complaint department. ] In life, his jokes brought both laughter and groans, and it was thought that Saint Peter at the "Pearly Gates" might first joke with him, before welcoming him in . . .
gonna ride the chariot in the morning...
Natalia: Every time Alberto comes, he complains that my house is either too hot or too cold.
Marcela: Just give him a generous serving of vodka to drink. That would numb his senses.

Aprendí hace mucho que no es una buena idea quejarse de algo en el trabajo sin tener una solución adecuada para proponer, porque si no, su la solución de ellos normalmente hará un cambio para peor. Sin embargo, incluso cuando tienes una solución buena, es un riesgo, porque ellos podrían idear una disparatada suya propia.
I learned long ago that it is not a good idea to complain about something at work without having an appropriate solution to propose, because if not, their solution normally will be a change for the worse. Nonetheless, even when you have a good solution, it is a risk, because they might come up with a harebrained one of their own.
