Hi HappySebilla, just to note that there is no mistake in using one, and not the other, it could be just a matter of formality as Natesmith1016 said! - marksteve, Nov 11, 2015

In England I don't think anybody says ' hey!', but obviously, in Sweden we all say 'Hej!'. Hi and hello are almost interchangeable these days, I would say. If I see a friend I might say ' Hi, how are you?' or' Hello, how are you, how nice to see you?' If it was my mother-in -law I would probably ise 'hello', but even she has moved with the times.

Yo nunca he oído "Hi".

¿Nunca has oído "Hi"? ¿De veras? Lo he oido 1,000,000 veces. - jtaniel, Nov 12, 2015
I've never heard ' Hey', but 'Hi ' is in frequent use in England. - annierats, Nov 12, 2015
