Welcome to SpanishDict. This forum is for learning a language. Please be specific about what you want here. A translation perhaps? - rac1, Nov 7, 2015

When I was a kid, ¡Hey! meant something like ¡Oye! and I was told it was a little rude. Now, appearently, it means ¡Hello! I wonder when the meaning changed.

Frankly, we spell it ' hi' in England and it is not regarded as a well educated start to a conversation. In Swedish: Hej ! is univeral, of course. - annierats, Nov 7, 2015
Annie, you´re right "Hi" - 005faa61, Nov 7, 2015
I disagree! "Hi" is used only as a greeting. "Hey" is used that way too, but is used primarily to attract attention or express surprise, appreciation, annoyance... - jtaniel, Nov 7, 2015

Hello sonic,

Welcome to the SpanishDict forum smile

I am very well thanks...wink

but what is your actual question? How do you want us to help you?

People post questions asking for help in this Question and Answer section, regarding some aspect of learning the Spanish or English languages which they are struggling to understand! wink

We have a separate thread for chatting and general comments wink I would post a link to it but I have forgotten what the thread is called.

I hope that some kind person, perhaps even a moderator, will add a link to my post here.....

.......which you can follow to the conversation area. It may be called Encouragement isle (island or Coffee and Chat

I hope this helps wink
