There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

A mi esposa no le gusta ejercer su derecho al voto, porque no cree que su voto importe mucho, pero a mí me gusta, porque creo que si nadie que piensa como yo votara, las elecciones serían decididas por los que piensan diferentemente que yo diferente a mí.

My wife does not like to exercise her right to vote, because she doesn’t think her vote matters much, but I do, because I think that if nobody who thinks like I do were to vote, the elections would be decided by those that think differently than I.

You are correct and it would be. - rac1, Nov 5, 2015
The cartoon says it all. In the U. S. A. I've often wondered what it would be like to have representatives elected by a true majority and not a majority of a minority. I guess I'll never know. - Jubilado, Nov 5, 2015
..diferente a mi... would be better - Pablo064, Nov 6, 2015
Gracias, Pablo. :) - bosquederoble, Nov 6, 2015
I think we are fortunate in Australia to have both a preferencial voting system and compulsory voting. Also we wouldn't do anything as silly as have an election on a Tuesday! - jennysk, Nov 6, 2015
I don't know how most in the US would react to being forced to vote. It does allow that people who don't want to bother to investigate the options don't have to vote, and select something at random. :) - bosquederoble, Nov 6, 2015
Interesting, Jenny. Bosque, I love the illustration, so true. - annierats, Nov 8, 2015

La tierra y la luna ejercen mutuamente una fuerza de atración pero normalmente no chocan. De todas formas hasta ahora.

The Earth and the Moon exert a gravitional force over each other, but normally they don't crash together. So far, anyway.
