In Mexico, I have never heard la sala de estar. It is la sala, or occasionally el salón.

Kirshonna, you seem to have overlooked the useful translator on this site. As a rule, people prefer that you take a stab at something yourself before asking someone else to do it for you.

Hello. Please fill out your profile so we can know what your skill level is in Spanish and English. Also make sure you use proper spelling and grammar when talking. This is a learning program and people that are Spanish learning English won't learn very well if you don't use English words correctly. Thank you.

Also Living Room is la sala de estar. Family room has the same meaning as living room. So the answer to both of your questions is la sala de estar.
