I'm trying to figure out how to say "grounded" in Spanish as in "my son is grounded for the weekend..." etc. Thanks in advance.

There is no short way of saying this. It's one of those things that you have to say the "long way." Here's one possibility.

He castigado a me hijo a quedarse en casa. LIterally I have chastised my son to stay in the house.
