Question

consejo ( kohn-seh'-hoh )

noun ( advice, council; counsel )

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Mi consejo para las mujeres casadas es que siempre pidan el consejo de su marido y digan que sí , van a pensarlo bien. Depués pueden hacer lo que quieran, como siempre.

Si tú vas a pagar por un abogado, entonces serías bien asesorado para escuchar (en vez de omiso) a los consejos que se te dan. Tú podrías haber ido audazmente donde otros idiotas han ido antes de forma gratuita.

If you are going to pay for legal counsel, then you would be well-advised to listen to (rather than disregard) the advice you are given. You could have boldly gone where other idiots have gone before for free.

Cuando tengo un una decisión muy dura que tomar, busco consejos de distintas fuentes, y si todos los consejos están de acuerdo, doy más peso a esta opción, aunque la decisión final queda mía en mí.

When I have a very hard decision to make, I seek advice from different sources, and if all the advice is in agreement, I give more weight to that option, although the final decision remains mine.
