Translating "more than" when separated in a sentence

Hello,
I am working on a translation project that will reveal translations on a computer when you click on the word. My question involves the phrase "more than" when it is separated by a phrase:
"more students voted for tiger than for"
What would be the best way: to translate the phrase under more?ie.mas que.... Or if they were separated would ELL students understand?ie. mas......que

Más....que is the correct
Because the translation of the phrase is:
Más estudiantes votaron por tigre que por...

Yo pienso que la frase está incompleta por eso los puntos suspensivos , el "por" al final se refiere a aquello que desconocemos y seria la otra opción de voto. - Ikigreg, Oct 26, 2015
