Hurricane Patricia

Hurricane Patricia

The most powerful hurricane ever recorded by the NHC is about to hit the Mexican coast just below Puerta Vallarta. 200mph sustained winds, 245 mph gusts, 880mb barometer, 35-40ft storm surge.

Last year Cabo and La Paz got hit hard by Odile a Cat 3 storm at 120mph. This is going to be devastating.

Early Morning Update: It appears so far that there was no loss of life. That may change as the sun comes up and damage can be better assessed. But the storm picked a good place to come ashore, in a relatively unpopulated area.

Patricia just passed over Puerto Vallarta last night. With constant Category 4 winds as it hit the Mexico mainland and overpassing Puerto Vallarta, destruction reigned through the whole night. Cleanup is constant down there and still high speed winds are passing. Many families are separated through mortal injuries and destroyed homes.

Patricia is down to a Tropical Depression, with winds as fast as 30 mph. The danger is gone for Mexico but still there is a possibility Patricia might reform in the Gulf of Mexico. If so, Texas would be the next to face the horrendous fatalities of Puerto Vallarta and surrounding cities.

Please pray for them. They need our support.

I had not heard that there were deaths, but thanks for the update. My prayers are joined with the others on this because the people affected are my brothers and sisters in faith. - Jubilado, Oct 24, 2015
I hear there are about 3 bodies found so far, but not really in Puerto Vallarta. Apparently they were surfing in the storm. Who in their right mind would do that? Anyway 3 are accounted for but the people searching haven't hit most of the town still. - Matjam, Oct 24, 2015
It passed through a part of Texas and has visited us here in New Orleans for the past few days with heavy downpours and high winds. We had flood warnings due to the fact N.O. is below sea level. - rac1, Oct 26, 2015
