Trouble with these phrases

Hola! I'm writing a composition for Spanish class and having trouble translating these phrases:

  1. "The government should not allow us to smoke in public." What I have is "El Gobierno no debe nos dejabamos fumar en público" but I don't feel confident. I'm trying to use the verb "dejar" because it's a vocabulary word.

  2. "...should not be forced to inhale harmful smoke because they leave their houses". What I have is "no deben estar fuerzan inhalar el humo dañoso debido a salen de sus casas" but I'm not sure about the "debido a" part in particular.

Your help would be appreciated! If you have time and are willing to proofread the full composition (150 words) please inbox me! Thanks!

You got help from a native speaker, de12wey, so that is very fortunate for you. My advice is to spend some time on common forms of Spanish verbs and how they combine with others. English verbs are quite different. - Jubilado, Oct 12, 2015

"no deberían ser forzados a inhalar humo dañino/nocivo porque dejarían sus casas"

I think this is not correct. The translation should be ".....no deberían ser forzados a inhalar humo dañino/nocivo porque dejen sus casas".

The idea is that they should not be forced to inhale the smoke due to the fact that they are out of the house. The translation by de12wey gives the wrong idea that they would leave their houses because of the smoke outside.
