Question

juzgar ( hoos-gahr' )

verb ( to judge; to try )

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

How to post a picture

Examples:

1: No quiero juzgar, pero creo que algo va mal con tu perro.

I don't want to judge, but I think something's wrong with your dog.

2: El acusado será juzgado en la ciudad donde se cometió el crimen.

The defendant will be tried in the city where the crime was committed.

Cuando se juzgan a los competidores en eventos deportivos, a veces hay controversia, y probablemente a veces sea porque los jueces simplemente no están de acuerdo con los espectadores, pero otras veces parece que los jueces no son imparciales.

When the competitors are judged in sporting events, sometimes there is controversy, and probably at times it is because the judges are simply not in agreement with the spectators, but other times it seems that the judges are not impartial.

It's true that you shouldn't judge people by the first impression but the piglets had not liked constable. They were talking among themselves about what to do, when they heard a whisper: '' My friends! Listen to me, don't let the police worry you, in this country one can well get work without all these papers. The important thing is , that as soon as you see the police, climb up a tree.'' ..les gustó el agente..or 'no les había gustado el agente..you can also say 'hablando entre ellos' but it's okay...you need subjunctive for 'when they heard a whisper' and always you put the verb in past tense it means that it has to be imperfect subjunct - Pablo064, Oct 13, 2015
