I wrote it as no te olvides comer, but I am not sure it is correct...Do I make it like no te olvides de comer, is the form of olvidar incorrect?

Ah! I forgot, the person would be saying this to themselves. - SeaOwl, Oct 10, 2015

I do not really feel like I will get this completely right, but since it has been sitting here 9 hours without answer I will give my thoughts.

In general:

You can use olvidar in 3 ways when translating to forget: olvidar, olvidarse de or the impersonal olvidársele algo a alguien.

No olvides comer (subject= tú, direct object comer, no connector needed)

No te olvides de comer (subject and reflexive object= tú (te), need connector to relate comer)

Que no se te olvide comer ( subject and reflexive object= comer, no connector, indirect object= tú (te), hence not a direct command, so I put the optional que to emphasize that )

I prefer the second in your case, but that is probably just me, but I don't think the third would work that well as a direct command, but instead an indirect subjunctive wish- here is a thread that agrees:

That being said I have seen variations of te and de that don't follow the rules.

In terms of speaking to oneself- I am not a native speaker, and honestly have no idea how Spanish speakers talk to themselves.

I'm just a little schizophrenic and talk to myself all the time. :) "No te olvides de comer" is probably what I would tell myself. - Daniela2041, Oct 10, 2015
"Que no se te olvide ...." is good for telling someone not to forget in a "soft" way by sort of taking away the responsibility of that person - 005faa61, Oct 10, 2015
Daniela's version strikes me as themost likely I would hear around here. As I'm not likely to forget to eat, myself, I can't say.. - annierats, Oct 10, 2015
So I guess it was not just me when I said I prefer the second. :) - bosquederoble, Oct 10, 2015
