Spinal chord.

Hello Friends,

I havd learnt a new word for "spinal chord today" .. which is "la espina dorsal".. I just wanted to ask if there is any difference between .. "La columna vertebral" and "La espina dorsal" .. or is it just like in english the spinal chord is also commonly refered to as the back bone..

Spinal cord is not the back bone in English, it is the nerve that runs through the spinal column or the backbone. La columna vertebral, espina dorsal o el raquis are all names for the human spine in Spanish. Medula espinal is spinal cord in Spanish.
