trouble with Fluencia Review

I guess I just want to ask if anyone has any suggestions.

I am doing FLUENCIA and the reviews are really hard and stressful. The reason is that there is so much listening. I have some hearing problems. At times I have trouble understanding speech even in my first language. If people do not speak up and speak clearly, I can not make out a lot of the words. So trying to understand speech in a different language and over the computer, which is not always clear, is very difficult. I am getting to the point of almost being ready to give up.

I do not know what anyone can suggest, but thought I would post and ask just it case. I am talking a different course also. It has an option to turn of the listen exercises which I did , but I do not find such an option on Fluencia.

Thanks

I have some hearing issues myself, especially if other sounds are around, but I have never done fluencia, so I don't know if there are tricks beyond simply turning up the volume. :) - bosquederoble, Oct 6, 2015
I can adjust the sound but I still have trouble. There is a button to slow id down, but it slows it so much, it tends to disort it to much at times. Not sure what to do. THanks - lfayb, Oct 7, 2015
Hearing loss is a relatively recent problem for me...and so dissapointing. Things get complicated in terms of being able to hear things well. I don't know if that's similar to your situation and I've never tried Fluencia. - Sassette, Oct 7, 2015
It is really frustrating at times. - lfayb, Oct 9, 2015

Here's a link to the course given by SD's own Paralee. She speaks so clearly that there should be no troubles understanding her.

You will be able to hear more clearly by using a good quality head set rather than computer speakers.

I might need to try that, but it my case, not sure it will help. I have moderate hearing problems, mainly at certain freqenceis and in speech recogntion. Sometimes have torulbe speaking to people in person in my langauge, if they do nhot speak claearly. - lfayb, Oct 10, 2015
Maybe some tiem, I will get some headsets and try ,but I really do not have much hope that it woudl help much. - lfayb, Oct 10, 2015

I have tried Fluencia, and 100% understand how you feel about the quality of the words that are being spoken. I have practically perfect hearing, yet I still cannot understand some of the words (Spanish and English) that are being spoken. It's like the person who recorded the word(s), mumbled while saying some of them. So I've switched to the SpanishDict lessons, because I can actually hear and understand the words that are being spoken a lot better and easier than on Fluencia. Sometimes when my siblings are being too loud anywhere near me I can't hear the words, but that very rarely happens. I hope this helps you and works for you, Ifayb smile

I started the lessons there, but I am also doing DUOLINGO, and it was all getting to be a bit too muich. And I had trouble with SpanishDict sound also. And the lessons rely to much on remembering what the pictures stand for-that was a problems for me. - lfayb, Oct 9, 2015
Oh ok, sorry. - Dogboy1000, Oct 9, 2015
