La Palabra Del Dia: "montar"
montar ( mohn-tahr' )
verb ( to ride, to mount; to assemble )

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.
Guidelines:
Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Es difícil explicar el encanto de montar a un buen caballo. No es solo que los caballos son animales muy bonitos, es que a veces nos dan el placer de cooperar con nosotros tan bien que el caballo nos ofrece su velocidad, su habilidad de saltar obstaculos, o sus mejores pasos de doma con tan buena voluntad que es como si fueramos un solo animal . Y eso es algo que entienden hasta los niños pequeños si tienen la buena fortuna de montar a un buen poni.
It's hard to explain the joy of riding a good horse. It's not just that horses are beautiful animals, it's that sometimes they give us the pleasure of co-operating with us so well that the horse offers us all his speed, his ability to jump obstacles or his best movements in dressage, so willingly that as if we were a single animal. And this can be grasped even by the smallest child lucky enough to ride a good pony.

Esta imagen muestra el corcel más famoso de Napoleón Bonaparte, Marengo. Montado sobre Marengo , Napoleón cruzó los Alpes y ganó la batalla de Marengo. O, puede ser que la imagen muestre otro corcel, Napoleón tenía unos 130 caballos en su cuadra. Al menos se ve muy impresionante montado, mejor que a pie, creo.
This picture shows Marengo, the most famous of Napoleon Bonaparte's chargers. Riding Marengo, Napoleon crossed the Alps and won the battle of Marengo. Or , maybe, the picture shows another horse, Napoleon had some 130 horses in his stables. At least he looks good mounted, better than on foot, I think.
