Please note that in English the words for languages are capitalized: Spanish. You can edit your posts to correct spelling errors. Thank you. - Jubilado, Oct 1, 2015

I think that the most accurate to automotive in this context, in Spanish would be automoción

In a domain name can I remove the accent? Is that professional? - geek3d, Oct 1, 2015
If you do it in all capital letters it would probably be acceptable. This is going to be a matter of opinion even among native speakers, but I personally do not like leaving accents out because they are part of the correct spelling. - Jubilado, Oct 1, 2015
I am totally agree with jubilado - 000a35ff, Oct 1, 2015
if you prefer industria automotriz , it works too. or industria del automóvil - 000a35ff, Oct 1, 2015
don't worry about the accents on the web. The search engine does not take them in count when you are making searches - 000a35ff, Oct 1, 2015

I want to do a website about the automotive industry. I need to have the word automotive in my domain name but not sure in Spanish if that word when translated has to do with cars and the auto industry.

I would like to get type in traffic so looking for a single word that many are familar with and type in to learn about autos.

Thanks!

Wait for a native speaker then. I assume you want something starting with A - Mardle, Oct 1, 2015

If I just used automotriz without industria, is that what people might type in google?

Yes, it seems that this word works quite well in google. You can attach automotriz as an adjective to just about any noun having to do with cars. Engineering, mechanics, body work, car dealerships, etc.

Welcome to the forum. In what context and where do you want to use the word? Are you working in the car trade? I am not the best person to answer as 1. I'm in the UK so know English there better than in USA

  1. I have gaps in my knowledge in English in relation to professional car mechanics

Word reference has the word you have chosen as one of the possibilities
