Check maarks next to some posts.

Hola

I notice when I'm scrolling thru posts, there will be a few posts with check marks beside where the vote count for that post is. I notice I have a number of marks beside my post, But what does it mean?

The check mark means that the person asking the question has selected one of the answers as the best answer. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 29, 2015

So in the comments you can see that the person who asked the question clicked on the box under the answer (like this one - white print in a light blue box) Mark as best answer.

The person who answers gets 20 points (if he or she isn't at 200 accumulated points) instead of 10 for a vote, or 30 points if you vote and also mark as best answer.

It's not something you want to do right away because it discourages others from answering and who knows? maybe the best is yet to come!

The person whose post gets chosen as best answer not simply the one who answers gets 20 points lol - FELIZ77, Sep 30, 2015
