Ryan ___ de Toyko. Es, Está or Eres?
To complete this sentence Ryan ___ de Tokyo, do I use es, está or eres? And could you explain why I use the one? I've come across several of these questions so far in my homework and it confuses me.

In your class I am sure your teacher talked about conjugating the verb "ser" (to be)
For each subject pronoun the verb changes form, thus:
Yo soy I am
tú eres You (familiar) are
él/ella/usted es He/she/you (formal) is/are
nosotros somos we are
vosotros sois You (pl. informal -Spain) are
ellos/ellas/ustedes son. they (m) they (f) you (formal) are
Now if you can recognize "Ryan" as a "he" you can do the rest yourself.
