Reflexive gustar for they
Estuvé hablando con mi vecino de Peru el otro dia, y no supe como decir esta oración:
"The cats like to play with plants." I was confused because I didn't know how to use gustar in this way. Is it reflexive if I am talking about how the CATS like to play?
Los gatos les gustan jugar con las plantas??? I know that's totally wrong, but since they're killing all of my lettuce, I would love to know the right way to say it!

Los gatos les gustan jugar con las plantas- not quite correct.
Gustar is not reflexive.
In gustar whatever is liked is the subject, and whatever likes it the indirect object
Think is pleasing to instead:
Playing with plants is pleasing to the cats.
Spanish favors a different word order with gustar
To the cats (to them) (it) is pleasing to play with plants (to them- Spanish only, it- English only)
A los gatos les gusta jugar con plantas
Here jugar con plantas is the subject of gusta (third person singular) and los gatos the indirect object, requiring an "a" (I don't know if it is personal or simply obligatory) and the redundant indirect object "les"
Do not use las for plantas unless you are talking about specific plants- generic nouns in Spanish tend demand the article as subjects, but rarely so after prepositions (except a- here I would keep los gatos either way).
If you want something reflexive:
Los gatos se divierten jugando con plantas.
The cats amuse themselves playing with plants.
