How do you say "writing piece"?

I'm a second grade teacher teaching escritura narrativa y escritura informativa/expositiva.
I'm explaining that escritura narrativa are stories (cuentos). How would I say that escritura informativa is writing pieces? Would I call them obras de escritura? Is there a better way to say it?

¡Jajaja! I don't know that term either. And my English is fluent--but very American. - Daniela2041, Sep 23, 2015

Escritura informativa o expositiva. Un tipo de escritura que su objetivo es solo para informar. No la llamaría cuentos. Como la llamaría?

I remember of my school times that there exist 4 type of texts.

Texto descriptivo: It descrives a place or an object or a person as it is.

Texto narrativo: It is as you has descrive it.

Texto argumentativo:  It gives arguments in favour or against a tesis

Texto expositivo: It exposes an object or a situation in a neutral way.

I am not very sure about this . many years have passed.

I have write texto...... you can change it for escritura ......(a). the first one is the consecuence of the second one.

Ah, OK.

To me and it seems that Daniela also thinks the same, an informative writing is what a descriptive writing is, too. Both are the same.

And yes, a piece of writing is an "obra" (works)

A veces usamos la palabra "trozo" de literatura--o algo por el estilo. - Daniela2041, Sep 24, 2015
