When I receive messages from my friends in mexico, the put the letter "p" behind many of the shorter words; examples Yop sip nop. What does this mean?

It's because sounds funny, and when they say it's kinda bluffing. They can use as well "sipi" or "nopo" (for "sí" and "no").

One more thing: we use "sip" "nop" "yop" only with friends or family, because in a professional matter like school or at work, it sounds pretty awkward, unprofessional.

See this thread.

The consensus seems to be that it is like yep and nope. May be short for adding "pues". There may be more to it than that. It is not something I have encountered before so I cannot be of more help than these links, maybe someone will come along who actually uses it.
