"Free" lessons

Hola

I've read in the search results that the lessons on this site (under "learn Spanish" in the menu) are "absolutely free", but when I jump right in and get going, I get through 15 individual lessons and Boom! here comes the "premium member" pop up. Why are so many things advertised as absolutely free when they are not? Sorry to make my first post here a complaint, but its frustrating that I can't find a "good" Spanish lesson program that I don't have to pay for, since due to my current situation, I can't pay for any lesson program, not even the one on this site.

The owners of this free site also own fluencia, and it is fairly easy to end up there looking for the lessons here.

Here is a direct link to the free video lessons here:

http://www.spanishdict.com/learn/courses

Here are written topic summaries with quizes, also free:

http://www.spanishdict.com/grammar

I have not tried Fluencia, so cannot say how they compare (it is just not what I need in my current stage of learning).

Two other free sites I like:

http://www.studyspanish.com/tutorial.htm

http://users.ipfw.edu/jehle/S210.HTM

The last is more advanced and presupposes a basic knowledge.(it is listed as second year, college level I think).

I also like about.com Gerald Erichsen but that I access as individual topics and have not found it as a course per se. he explains things very well and accurately in my experience though.

Gracias bosquederoble. The direct links help. The little bit of fluencia that I did try seems pretty good, I'm just not able to pay for Spanish learning program at this time, so I'll stick to our freebies for now. - ilovenxstage, Sep 14, 2015
Great work, Bosque, thanks for adding the links. :) - rac1, Sep 14, 2015
No problem, I like to encourage people taking the same road I did- teaching yourself. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 14, 2015
Gracias Bosque. - ian-hill, Sep 14, 2015

I think I was looking at fluencia. However one of the threads that came up in my search specifically mentioned the option "Learn Spanish" in the menu, and I discovered that takes you to fluencia. I'm still learning my way around this site. Again, I'm sorry for starting my experiance here with a rant! I look forward to re-learning a lot of my "lost" language here!

Gracias

Welcome to SpanishDict. SpanishDict lessons are free of charge. You must be looking at Fluencia. They have several lessons that are free and then to continue, there is a fee. Is that what you are referring to?
