Va Ir o Wait

Question

So , I heard someone saying ''Va'' , and in that situation it didn't sound like she's wondering or so , for me it sounded like ''wait'' Can it be wait ? or am i wrong ?

In Argentina we use "va" the way you mention. Our spanish is a little different from the one spoken in Spain or the rest of Latin America, so native speakers from another country may disagree. I guess it cames from "ahí va" which means "I'm working on it" and gives the idea of "wait until I finish it". Although the literal translation is "there it goes".

Where did you hear her in the UK or Spain. If she was from Latin America she would pronounce it differently. It is not the imperative nor is it first person so what was she describing? Can you remember?

Just Va alone .. doesn't make any sense to me .. she perhaps must have said some other word too along with it .. for example ,.. if she said "QUE VA" it means .. "come on" ..

Va stand alone is gramatically incorrect too .. because if you are using a verb stand alone .. without any context or any sentence .. it can only be used that way as an imperative command .. where you are requesting or commanding some one to do something .. in which case it should have been "vayas or vaya" which would have meant that she is requesting or asking you to go (God knows where) .. hehe
