The rule for Spanish plurals is"

If a word ends in a vowel, like "bolígrafo" just add "s" "bolígrafos"

If a word ends in a consonant, add "es" "mujer" mujeres. "reloj" relojes.

Watch out for words ending in "z" you have to change the "z" to "c" then add es.

In Spanish 101 (which I teach in college) one of your first words is "lápiz". the plural form would be "lápices."

Now that I have answered your question could you please fill out your profile. It is very helpful to us in determining how to answer your questions.

Gracias.

For Spanish 102- if the word ends in a stressed vowel other than e, you are back to adding es. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 9, 2015
Shhhhhh! Don't scare sschwarz off. I'm going to have to deal with my Spanish 102 student about this--they will be ready. :-) Fortnately there are not many such words. - Daniela2041, Sep 9, 2015
Arrrrgh! "fortunately" (My computer hates me and won't spell right.) - Daniela2041, Sep 9, 2015
Hey, at least I didn't mention words like frac, tórax, or análisis. Which might be Spanish 301? But then los martes y los lunes,... will probably hit earlier. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 9, 2015
