Gerundio usage with future tense.

According to this gerundios should be used to express the continuous nature of present or past actions/events but not future ones, however I have recently spoken to a native Spanish speaker who says that the gerundio can be used if the continuous nature of the future action/event needs to be stressed. So:
"Estoy corriendo" = "I am running" - OK
"Estaba corriendo" = "I was running" - OK
"Estaré corriendo" = "I will be running" - OK?

The way you have used it estaré corriendo is OK.
The way we cannot use it is when the gerund is associated with a present-tense verb as in English: Tomorrow I am running (OK) ....... Mañana estoy corriendo (terrible).

Ah, gracias. The article was misleading. So we could say: "Mañana voy a correr", "Mañana correré" or "Mañana estaré corriendo" ? - jellonz, Sep 9, 2015
