How to say the class was very fun

Question

If I was talking about a class that I took in the past, for example last year. And I wanted to say that it was a fun class, would it be "La clase fue muy divertida" or "la clase era muy divertida? " And what would be the reason behind using the one you chose?

Indefinido is for completed actions, and my class is completed already. But at the same time isn't "the class was fun" a description? I'm confused.

In this case both preterite and imperfect indicate that the action of the class taking place has finished simply by your context, but imperfect allows the class to continue to be fun next time it takes place, so imperfect is indicating the nature of the class.

Preterite has more finality - the class is over and nothing more. If you were to talk about a class being fun on a specific day, then preterite would be used. So the next class now has the possibility of being fun or not being fun with no nuance of the nature of the class, but just how it was on one day.

From your context, I would use imperfect era.

So far as your title very doesn't go with fun, though very funny to me makes me think people wanted to laugh which could include the teacher making mistakes but fun is very enjoyable.
