When I lived up north sometimes I would ride my motorbike along a road through the glen where I could see down to the river. However, often the glen was full of fog below the road so it was no longer possible to see the water but only the top of the fog like a kind of roof. It was dreamlike, but one time I even saw a jet suddenly fly into the glen at terrifying speed beneath me. It was a military jet because the Air Force used to run exercises there. To invent a Spanish word for "smog" I combined smoke with fog like in English and "neblumo/smog" was the result. The only problem is that nobody has accepted it yet. Oy!
