How Do I Get Search Function To Work?

Hi, Everybody :

There are times when I want to go back in time to review things or to add an entry to a thread from the past. That is when I use the search function. I'm referring to the box with the magnifying glass that is under the green box on the upper-right hand side that says "ask a question." I put in the thread word for word or very close to it and it just does not work. It does not take me to the thread that I am looking for.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something wrong with the search function? If so, is SD management aware of the problem?

I do not know if they know it, but in my experience the search function does not find anything done since early 2012- it only brings up things older than that. - bosquederoble, Aug 6, 2015

I have never, ever found what I wanted on this site either. Put it into google and world forum or some other site will quickly give you an answer. Sorry SD, but it is true.

Hello everyone

I have re-opened this thread to explain that the mods know full well that the search function is far from perfect.

The problem about 2012 is well known - that was when a major update of SD was done. For some reason the search function stopped working as it had previously.

The search function does not work at all on the reference articles which is a big shame because they contain a whole library of interesting and informative information,

The mods have repeatedly requested that the search function be improved.

There is only so much we can do.

I suggest as many as possible report the problems via Feedback.

What are the words you entered into the search box? I'll have a look.

Try anything. For instance, take a word of the day from not too long ago : La Palabra Del Dia: "espejo" - Sassette, Aug 6, 2015
