I've seen 'zanahorias' for sale in shops in Spain, although was surprised to find that 'hongos' (mushrooms) are simply 'champiñones', which everyone educated in Britain of my generation recognises from French, the default foreign language of schools back then... wink

In Mexico, champiñones are mushrooms, which are a subset of hongos. - jtaniel, Jul 23, 2015

Zanahoria is the only word I know of for "carrot" I checked my Larousse dictionary to see if there are others but "no hay." I also checked Google. --Nada! enter image description here
