Gustar in the reflexive

Gustar in the reflexive

Hola a todos,

I understand the basics of how to use gustar (pronoun + gustar + subject) and that gustar MUST agree with the subject. ie: Do you like chocolate? -Te gusta chocolate? We like him. - Nos gusta l. He likes us. - Le gustamos nosotros.

Is it the same in the reflexive case? How would I properly translate the following sentence. They like themselves a lot.

My guess is "Les gustan ellos mismos" but I don't know and is this everyday language one would use?? Gracias por ayudarme! HD

They like themselves a lot----> Se gustan mucho.

Se=themselves, gustan=They like, mucho= a lot.

I should say, as the previous who answered, that "like himself" makes not sense. It should something like "They love themselves a lot", in the sens that they respect themselves or some like that.

To help your English: "I should like to say, like the person who answered previously, that "like himself" makes no sense. It should be something like "They love themselves a lot", in the sense that they respect themselves or something like that." - Jubilado, Sep 5, 2015

I think the phrase used is ' amar a sí mismo' rather than gustar.

I may be wrong and I hope you get more answers.
