confusion with "poner"
i have seen conjugation of "poner"
it apparently mean 'to put'
'me pongo traje=i wear suit' is it used like 'gustar'?
gustar means 'to be pleasing' but is used like ' to like'
so what does 'poner actually mean ?

Like many English verbs, poner means many different things depending on the context.
The classic is put, place and often it can be tied to that in English even when not the most common way of saying something.
Poner huevos- to lay eggs--- well in a sense they are being placed.
When you add the "reflexive" pronoun me- ie use it in the pronominal form- in essence you are putting to yourself whatever follows
Me puse de pie- I stood up- I put myself on foot
Me puse triste- I got sad- I put myself sad
Me puse traje- I put on a suit- I placed a suit on me.
It is not being used like gustar- poner is conjugated to first person, not traje.
