There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

My muscles always hurt two days after having worked out.

2. Tengo que ir a recoger a mi hijo de la escuela porque le duele el estómago.

I have to go pick up my son from school because his stomach hurts.

Odio cuando la enfermera dice: "Esto le podría doler puede la duela un poquito."

I hate it when the nurse says: "This might hurt a little."

Jraider: I could be wrong but I think you should say "Esto le podría doler...." Do not conjugate the second verb and use le instead of la/lo (for usted) because doler, like gustar, takes an indirect object pronoun. - DilKen, Jul 8, 2015
Gracias Ken. If you're not sure I'll wait for tiempo :-)! - Jraider, Jul 8, 2015
J: that's fine. I like my chances on this one. I'm guessing that Tiempo might suggest "le puede doler" instead of podría, but otherwise I think he will agree with me. I hope:) - DilKen, Jul 8, 2015
My dentis says: Puede molestar un pocito.. I've now understood what molestar means.. This will hurt! - annierats, Jul 8, 2015
Ken is right: "Le podría doler" or "Le puede doler". Saludos! - LuisCache, Jul 8, 2015
Annie: as you probably know already, your doctor is saying "this may bother you" - DilKen, Jul 8, 2015
One time a nurse was giving me a shot and she said "Oh no!" I assumed I had an air bubble rushing to my heart. It was only that she had broken a nail :) - DilKen, Jul 8, 2015
Wimps! Just kidding...:):) - rac1, Jul 8, 2015
Annie: My dentist also asks me: ¿Molesta? - LuisCache, Jul 8, 2015
The jury is in, I'm convinced! Gracias a Luis, Ken y annie :-)! - Jraider, Jul 8, 2015
annie 'poquito' ...'pocito' would be a little pit I guess...I think that 'molestar un poquito' is the soft way to say 'it can hurt' jejej - Pablo064, Jul 8, 2015
Exactly, sorry about the typo, I seem to have problem with c and q, me molestan. - annierats, Jul 8, 2015

Después de hacer las reparaciones en mi casa durante cuatro días, casi todos los músculos me duelen. Sin embargo, me siento muy bien porque he terminado el trabajo hoy.

After doing home repairs for four days, almost all of my muscles are aching. However, I am feeling good because I have finished the job today.

Doctor: Entonces no lo hagas más.

Patient: Doctor, it hurts when I do this.

Me parece que eso debe doler mucho . A cualquiera le dolería dar a luz a un niño tan enorme.

It seems to me that must hurt very much. Anyone would be hurt to give birth to such an enormous child

Lo malo del envejecimiento es que cuando trabajo duro en el jardín me duele mucho de pies a cabeza y cuando me quejo a mi esposa no me da ni un poco de compasión- simplemente me dice "cállate y toma algún Advil."

The bad thing about aging is that when I work hard in the garden I hurt quite a bit from head to toe and when I complain to my wife she does not show me even a little bit of sympathy- she simply tells me "shut up and take some Advil."

A veces la idiotez del compañero puede doler más que el dolor real.

Sometimes the companion's idiocy can hurt more than the actual pain.

Desde hace unos meses, de vez en cuando me duele la rodilla. Mi médico dice que es por la edad.

For a few months, my knee hurts sometimes. My doctor says it is caused from aging.

"Since a few months" ... "For a few months" - is better amigo ---- "since" is used from a specific point in time. Example: Since last month .. etc. - ian-hill, Jul 9, 2015
Thank you, Ian! Very clear explanation. :) - LuisCache, Jul 9, 2015

A mi, me duele todo y no sé porque. Puede que sea por falta de sueno porque tuve que levantarme cuatro veces durante la noche porque el cachorro tiene el estomago revuelto y tuve que sacarlo. Si le enseñas a decir que necesita salir tienes que dejarlo salir en cuanto lo necesita..

I'm aching all over and I don't know why. Maybe it's lack of sleep, because I had to get up four times during the night because the puppy has a stomach upset and I had to let it out. If you teach it to tell you that it needs to go out, you have to let it out as soon as it needs to go out..

The more I use the computer, the more my hands hurt, so why don't I stop?

Is it caused by the use of the mouse or by the use of the keyboard? - LuisCache, Jul 9, 2015
I use a track pad. I think that's what causes the pain--or at least exacerbates it. - AnnRon, Jul 9, 2015

Cuando mi marido trabaja en el jardin a menudo le duele la espalda y entonces tiene que acostarse con una bolsa de agua caliente.

When my husband works in the garden he often hurts his back and then he has to lie down with a hot water bottle.
