Different uses of "tu" and "te"

I do not understand the different uses of: tu, and te in Spanish. I understand that "tu" is a subject pronoun, and "te" is an indirect object pronoun, however, I do not understand the uses of these. In the example: "Yo fui pensando sobre (tu/te)" (I was thinking about you), which form of "you" would be used? I believe it is "tu," but I'm not 100% sure! ¡Muchas gracias!

Tú /Te/Ti

Tu as subject

YOU are bautifull. TU eres guapo

Tu as indirect object is TE

I (subject) give YOU( indirect object) a present(direct object). Yo TE doy un regalo.

TI to aclarate more, who the indirect object is. It use to go preceed for a preposition a/en/por...

. Yo a TI te doy un regalo. or yo te doy un regalo a TI.

I give you a present TO YOU.

The sentence i was thinking about you . Woul be.

Estaba pensando en TI

First of all, what's your native language?

Second, try to understand full sentences instead of single words that might have different meaning and uses, just like in English.

Nice reading here: http://users.ipfw.edu/jehle/courses/PRONOUN1.HTM

There are a number of distinct situations where you need to choose between tú, te, and ti.

Txelis delineated the indirect object and subject cases nicely.

Ti is used as the object of a preposition, which can include anytime the object is used with a personal a as emphasize, but can simply be when there is a preposition, as in the example he gave using "pensar en ti".

Te is also used as the direct object and the "reflexive/pronominal" usage:

Te desperté. I woke you up- direct object

Te despertaste. You woke (yourself) up.

It is important to recognize all 5 situations, as different pronouns change in different patterns in all these situations.
