There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Ella no baila bien, pero no parece importante importarle.

She doesn't dance well, but she doesn't seem to care.

¿Por qué quiere usted bailar?

—¿Por qué quiere usted vivir?

Pues, no sé exactamente porque, por qué, pero lo debo hacer.

—Es mi respuesta también.

..

Why do you want to dance?

—Why do you want to live?

Well, I don't know exactly why, but I must.

—That's my answer too.

Si los jóvenes bailan tan solos, tengo miedo sobre el futuro de la humanidad. ¿Dónde está el amor?

If young people always dance so alone, I'm afraid about the future of humanity. Where is the love?

No sé bailar. Sin embargo, me gusta intentar a mover a moverme con la música.

Recientemente vi un vídeo de dos niñas, hermanas, en un recital de baile. Una de ella fue en una silla de ruedas pero los dos bailaran muy bien juntos las dos bailaran muy bien juntas.

¡Muchas gracias, Tiempo!

Pienso que es más importante bailar en su mente.

I can't dance. Yet, I like to try to move to the music.

Recently I saw a video of two girls, sisters, in a dance recital. One of them was in a wheel chair, but they both danced very well together.

I think that it is more important to dance in your mind.

¿Crees que no puede bailar? Todo el mundo puede bailar. Si no sabes nada, sólo muévete como los árboles hacen en una brisa.

Do you think you can’t dance? Everybody can dance. If you don’t know anything else, just sway like the trees do in a breeze.

Siempre he sido un desastre bailando.. No tengo ningún sentido de ritmo y no me gusta escuchar música sin canciones. Mis padres me mandaron a una clase de baile, pero fue el acabóse fatál.

I've always been a walking disaster when it comes to dancing. I have no sense of rhythm and I don't like listening to music unless there are songs with it. Mi parents sent me to a dancing class but that was the final straw, I've never danced again.

I have never heard it, I looked up sinionimos de desastre, to avoid repetition, but then I didn't know how to use it! - annierats, Jul 6, 2015
I think I'll avoid it in future, if I can even remember it. - annierats, Jul 6, 2015
forget it jajaj you'll never use it - Pablo064, Jul 7, 2015
el acabose. no lleva ningún adjetivo. es una expresion hecha. si quieres poner fatal debes separarlo del acabose y que forme parte de la suguiente frase. por ejemplo. en fin , fatal - 000a35ff, Jul 7, 2015
"ser el acabose" es una gran frase. Al menos en México sí se usa, y con ese sentido: "tomé clases de baile y fue el acabose". - LuisCache, Jul 7, 2015
Acabose viene del verbo acabar + pronombre se: se acabó: it was the end! - LuisCache, Jul 7, 2015

Luis: A wallflower is a person who has no one to dance with or who feels shy, awkward, or excluded at a party. So called because he is like a decoration on the wall...he's not on the dance floor. - DilKen, Jul 7, 2015

El ave del paraíso superba macho baila para atraer a la hembra, pero parece que la hembra es muy exigente, y rechazó a un promedio de quince machos de media antes de elegir uno para ser el padre de sus crías.

The male superb bird of paradise dances to attract the female, but it appears the female is very demanding, and rejects fifteen males on average before picking one to be the father of her young.
