There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Ironicamente, cuando gritas, la otra persona a menudo deja de escuchar.
Ironically, when you shout, the other person often stops listening.
Mi madre, como la de Bosque, se quedó sorda de anciana y teníamos que hablar con ella gritando a todo pulmón. Como se repiten mucho las conversaciónes con la gente mayor, gritar a voz en cuello para repitir las mismas frases me daba dolor de garganta, pero ella continuaba quejándose de que hoy en día los jovenes son muy tímidos y hablan en voz muy baja.
My mother, just like Bosque's became deaf in her old age and we had to talk to her shouting at full blast. As conversations with the elderly are repetitive , all this shouting at the top of my voice in order to repeat the same sentences , always gave me a sore throat but she kept on complaining that nowadays the young people are very shy and speak terribly quietly.
