How would you say, "Would you mind turning off the light?" Or, "Would you mind if I keep the light on?"

Thank you!

¿Te molesta apagar la luz? ¿Te molesta si la luz permanezca encendida?

Hello Caitlin,

You asked:

How do you say, "Would you mind...?" in Spanish? How would you say, "Would you mind turning off the light?" Or, "Would you mind if I keep the light on?"

I might be wrong, but I think that you could also say

¿Te importa si apago la luz? / ¿Te importa si la luz permenezca encendida?

I hope ths helps smile

Corrijan mi español, si es necesario smile

"Te importa si apago la luz?" I used the verb "molestar" to translate this idiom because this is the one used in the college textbook "Panorama' and is sort of standard. Yours is not incorrect, however except you forgot to congugate it. - Daniela2041, Jun 20, 2015
